Artist Experience & Expectations

How do I know if my SMP artist is experienced?

Assess an SMP artist through relevant experience, local regulatory compliance, sanitation practices, authentic examples, and clear communication about limitations. Ask whether examples show immediate or healed appearances and whether the work resembles your intended treatment. Photographs can help you understand prior work, but they cannot guarantee your outcome. A responsible consultation should leave room for questions about products, hygiene, follow-up, and medical concerns rather than relying on credentials, persuasive images, or promises of an undetectable result.

What You Should Know

  • Experience should be relevant to your intended application, not described only through a general title.
  • Regulatory compliance and sanitation deserve separate questions from aesthetic design.
  • An artist's willingness to explain uncertainty is more useful than a guarantee of perfection.

When to Seek Professional Advice

Prepare a short consultation checklist covering comparable work, photo timing, local requirements, sanitation, and follow-up. Pause if important answers remain vague or you feel pressured to book.
